Frequently Asked Questions

What is Clinical Pilates?

Clinical Pilates is an individualised, physiotherapy-led exercise program designed to improve strength, mobility, and core control. Unlike general Pilates classes, Clinical Pilates sessions are tailored to your specific injury, condition, or rehabilitation goals and are supervised by an experienced physiotherapist.

How is Clinical Pilates different from regular Pilates classes?

Clinical Pilates is delivered by qualified physiotherapists and is based on a personalised rehabilitation plan. Each program is designed following an initial physiotherapy assessment to ensure exercises are safe and targeted to your condition. This also allows eligible clients to claim private health rebates.

What conditions can Clinical Pilates help with?

Clinical Pilates can assist with back and neck pain, hip and groin pain, chronic hamstring injuries, pre- and post-natal rehabilitation, and general strength and core stability improvement. It is commonly used as part of injury rehabilitation and long-term injury prevention programs.

Do I need an assessment before starting Clinical Pilates?

Yes. A physiotherapy consultation is required before commencing Clinical Pilates to assess your condition, understand your goals, and develop a personalised program. This ensures exercises are appropriate and allows for private health insurance claims where eligible.

What types of Clinical Pilates sessions are available?

We offer small group Reformer Pilates sessions (45 minutes, maximum of 4 participants) and one-on-one Reformer Pilates sessions (30 minutes) for more personalised coaching. Bookings are essential, and discounted packages are available for bulk bookings.
